Guitarist, composer, singer/songwriter from the Faroe Islands. 18 small islands situated in the North Atlantic Ocean, between Scotland, Norway, and Iceland.
Stanley's music is the folk style, but he touches many different styles including blue-grass and country. His music is heavily inspired by British and US guitarists e.g. John Renbourn and Stephen Stills. Stanley began composing music to the lyrics of great Faroese poets in the mid eighties and soon he started writing his own lyrics in faroese as well as in danish. Stanley plays the acoustic guitar and sings in faroese, english, danish and swedish. He plays solo as well as with his band. Gert Smedegaard, drums/percussion and Knut Henriksen, bass. Both well known danish musicians. Stanley has been touring every Nordic and Baltic country as a troubadour along with other nordic singer songwriters since 1990. Stanley's career as a musician began in the early sixties playing lead guitar in the local rock n“ roll band. When he was 19 he moved to Denmark, and throughout the seventies and eighties before he started writing his own music, he played in many different bands, performed on TV shows in Denmark and his faboulous guitar is heard on quite a few records in Denmark.
